Constructive criticism is welcome. My general goal for lyrics is to reach understanding and talk about issues affecting our world today no matter who sings it, adds music to it or distributes it. Of course, please respect original author rights whether music, lyrics, story etc..
Perspective
I’m a woman on the streets, searching for a meal to eat,
So hungry that I’m waiting for a penny, unexpectedly,
A stranger passing by, the face familiar to my own
I’m asking why?
The race, it’s god who picks the places at the starting line,
Three categories: The poor, the rich and the alright,
Later down the road it’s us, the humans, who dictate the lives,
Switching the roles, you could’ve been me, instead
I’m poverty stricken in these cardboard sheets,
so crippleling, but it’s the only thing that’s real,
Now the drugs run through my systems,
the dream is coloured crimson, making me a victim,
I feel the scorn, scorched, the eyes obtrusive, condemnation
By the judges in the court while the city winds continues cold,
I’m trying, striving, someone please give me a chance,
To rise from a pile of ashes, like the phoenix and dance,
Go back to the times of when I was young, age eight,
Before rain poured down, charged me a damned fate,
Changed sealed my life into a tombstone engraved,
The epitaph saying the words “it’s too late”,
