| Seeing how we have a ton of people from HSM here, maybe it's a good idea to team up to hold some sort of event?
Considering the size of HSM's growing readerbase and that HSM seems to deal with a lot of human interest stories, maybe can hold a party or a magazine-sponsored art show?

| We welcome anyone to join in on our events. Doors open to all on Home.
We can collaborate with other groups as well.
Anything is possible if you

- RainMan Rain, if you have an idea for an event and want all the joy and work of making it happen, make a thread for it here in Event Suggestions (as you have already done) and start discussing plans and recruiting assistance. I would be delighted to help with an Imagine! / HSM event any way I can. But of course the first thing we would need to do is get NorseGamer on board. It can't be an official HSM event without him! So... what kind of event did you have in mind?

| How about that "rolling" costume party idea - where it takes place in 4 different locations in Home at the same time: Playground, Ratchett&Clank, CP, and the Mall. The one place without dance music is the Mall, so we could coordinate that site with lab's music through the website. Then put one person with huge FL in each space: I suggest sealwyf in Mall, burbie in CP, DarthGranny in Playground, and Norsegamer in Ratchett&Clank. That way instead of maxing out one space (and having terrible lags and people getting booted), we would wind up with about 40 people in each space.
In essence, it would be Imagine! takes over Home for one night. Send out advance notice to each group in Home and urge them to arrive early. Also post announcements in every Forum and publication. Kickoff with a story in HSM website about Imagine! I have almost 180 on my two FLs combined so I don't think this would be hard to fill. And burbie has two account FLs also.
We could even tie this in the next month with RHO and PSHT and add two more public spaces that have dance music. I think it is time we make the point to everyone that there is a gigantic social gamer element in Home who love an opportunity to be creative.
Th more people are able to participate rather than just be an audience, the more excited they get about an event.

I'm just trying to brainstorm some stuff. I already e-mailed Norse about setting up events and I'm waiting for a response.
Personally, I'd like to hold an event that showcases the talents of Imagine!, from prose to artwork.
@DarthGranny
Awesome idea, why didn't I think of it!

| OK, PSHomeGazette ran with the story and the Rolling Party is set for April 2. Two more organizations have already replied, the Hamsters and the Amazons, so we might need more than 4 public spaces. Only thing Imagine needs to do is be the official 'sponsor' of this event (have at least one Imagine member in each party space who can explain to the bystanders what is going on and recruit new Imagine members) and,
it would be a BIG help if labrodent would post a tutorial here on how to use a club website to provide music for a party.

This is bigger than an independent event (such as the Fashion Walks) that can fit under the Imagine! umbrella. It's an official event of the club as a whole, and as such it needs a vote, or at least the consensus of the core active members. I think we should schedule a meeting or something.

| You mean that unless the group votes, no one from Imagine would participate? I thought the whole idea of Imagine was for each of us to come up with creative ideas that could be implemented - and that those events would include recruitment efforts to attract other creative people. I did not know I needed permission from the group as a whole before I could implement an idea. I am so sorry - I did not realize I needed the approval of creative ideas. The only help I wanted from Imagine was IF any other Imagine member wanted to be present to help recruit since I could not be in all 4 spaces at the same time.
I thought it would also be great if we had a short video of some of the party activity in addition to my slide show. And the music from the Imagine website in one of the party locations would be epic!

Help me out here. To my mind, there is a great difference between Imagine! sponsoring a stand-alone event such as the weekly Fashion Walks, and organizing (rather than simply participating in) a multi-group activity. For something of that scale, the decision needs to be made by the organization. Which, in this case, means a meeting, discussions, and a vote. I would personally advise against our "taking the point" on this project. If you can find someone else to head it up, we will certainly consider participating, as one group among many. What I would personally suggest is that you find another group in Home to serve as the coordinating body, and then have that group extend invitations to other groups, including Imagine! We are the new kids on the block, and our relationship with the Homelings is still ambivalent and angsty. I want to be very careful here. We don't want to look like we are "taking over the world." Just my two cents. Other members are free to disagree. Can we have some discussion, please?

I feel like I just opened Pandora's Box here. Personally, I wonder if Norse would be okay with it, I could hold and plan the event myself, but I've yet to hear back from him yet. - RainMan

| OK, I get your point. Start out slower. Find an already established big group. OK, I will talk to RHO, PSHT, and HSM. They are big, they are not affiliated with anyone particular club, and they already have parties. | |

Thank you. Once we get ourselves established in Home, we can start coordinating big multi-group events. For now, I think we aim for small but glorious creations.
